→ Latte Components
05 - 2 shots (2 ounces) freshly brewed espresso
06 - 10 fluid ounces whole milk or oat milk
07 - 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional
# Directions:
01 - Melt butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onion, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until onions are deeply caramelized and golden, about 12 to 15 minutes.
02 - Transfer caramelized onions with pan juices to a blender. Add 2 tablespoons of milk and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to achieve a silky consistency.
03 - Brew 2 shots (2 ounces) of espresso and divide into two cups. Incorporate 1 tablespoon of strained onion purée to each cup, mixing thoroughly.
04 - Heat remaining milk until steaming. Froth the milk using a milk frother or whisk until creamy and foamy.
05 - Pour frothed milk over the espresso-onion mixture in each cup. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if preferred. Gently stir to combine and serve immediately.
